Visit to INAM for on-site training in calibration (2016)

From 2 to 10 August 2016, two technical experts from WMO/RIC Tsukuba paid a visit to Mozambique’s National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) to provide on-site training in meteorological instrument calibration as part of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Project for the Capacity Enhancement of Meteorological Observation, Weather Forecasting and Warning of INAM. This followed INAM training held at WMO/RIC Tsukuba in December 2015.

The trainees reviewed the calibration procedures covered during the training, and learned how to maintain their calibration facilities and compile practical manuals on calibration procedures. At the end of the training, the attendees and visiting experts discussed the instrument calibration system and promotion of traceability at INAM.

The training is considered to have been successful and to have contributed to further collaborative activities with WMO/RIC Tsukuba.
